Roger, sounds like you had a great Cav time. I had to do the color guard for our Bn. At an 18th Airborne corps change of command at Ft Bragg in 1982. I looked up Bill Fowler and he and his wife were doing good. Have you heard from any of the old gang. After drill sergeant duty we went to Berlin for 5 years. That was a hell of an adventure. Got to guard Rudolph Hess and see the wall come down. So you live in Florida? Do you ever go to the reunions I was reading about?
Hey bud. My wife and I were talking of the out Christmas times we had in BK with our Cav family. I found this site and saw your name. I do miss those Cav days and all the adventures in Fowlers Platoon.
We left BK in 81 went to the 101st, then Drill Sgt duty at Ft McClellan, Al, then taught at the Drill Sgt school, went to the 6/502 in Berlin guarding the wall from 85-90 (got to see the wall come down), then we got assigned to Augusta State University right outside Ft Gordon, Ga, then 6th ROTC Bde CSM at Hunter Army Airfield, then my last one was 4/10 Infantry CSM at Ft Lenard wood Mo. That caused me to retire. Taught High School JROTC in Hephzibah, Ga for 19 years, retired and have owned my home inspector business for 10 years (8 years while I was teaching HS). 3 kids and 10 grandkids. How about you?
