Had the privledge to meet you 1 time Sir, 1982 was in front of 15 th Maint waiting for my ITV to get work....was in the TC hatch, next thing I know a Full Bird is in front of the track.....I'm like "Oh Shit" what did I do ! Turned out to be a pleasent conversation and I was quite struck. I remember that to this day Sir, ALLONS for Life !

Great to see you are doing well, Sir.  I don't know if you remember me.  I was a Platoon Leader and XO of I Troop, and then the 3/11 S2 and Border Officer.

IORN HORSE SIR, I'm glad to see your doing well , We just buried Gen Starry , guess you know that by now, I was a proud Blackhorse trooper as Col White call us his destruction engineers of 58 th Engineers you remember the Red Devils, or better the no shame platoon ,This is a wonderfull web site glad to see you on it, I'm still a proud cav trooper had to get medically discharged after an m-1 accident in the ohio guard but I did get my spurrs from the 2/107th cav but I got my stetson in Fulda , IORN HORSE FOREVER

Over at the 11th ACVVC site, we are having a discussion about -- what started out as Mr. Morrison (11th Cavalry Museum) getting a cannon for Irwin, claiming it was used with the 11th early in the 20th century. The Museum owning it says that Cavalry had no Artillery so rejected the transfer  request.

Anyway it has turned into a discussion about Assigned and Attached units in Vietnam, and I brought up the fact that maybe the reason for my not being awarded the Valorous Unit Citation for TET was because I was in 1-HOW and not considered a combat unit.

Then one of the guys said that he was the driver for his CO in I troop and also was not awarded the citation, he held an Armor MOS, 11E, at the time, not 11B.

But the current debate -- as I said -- is attached and assigned units like the 919th.

One of the guys offered to visit his Senators (Guess he has some pull there), then I thought maybe a better source would be yourself.

If you can shed some light on this, it would be helpful.

Good afternoon, Sir !!  **salute**

We're high and dry here in Middle TN.  I sure wish the same for you down there.  I keep you all in my prayers and thoughts daily.  Just don't let the gators or moccasins get you !!  We gotta get together for some real food one of these days.

I won't be able to make Vegas this year.  Vacation plans didn't work out right.  Next year is do-able !!  Hope to see you then.  Take care, God bless ........ ALLONS !!!
