Welcome home and thanks for your service to our Nation and our Regiment.  I recommend we 'meet' next time on e-mail, as that is easier to send some of the stuff I have about the 12 August 1969 fights around Quan Loi.  I'm at blackhorse4@verizon.net.

Ed, hope you all are not under water in Tenn. again this year.  We are up to our ears in water down here in Cajun country where I live.  Hope to see you at BHA Reunion in Vegas or next year in Williamsburg, VA.  Blackhorse!    Crow, 49th Col

Was that action on 12 August near Quan Loi? Three days later I was wounded in the defence of the base camp at Quan Loi. Wound up in Yokahama Japan (106th Gen. Hosp.) for three months.

Hey, welcome home brother. I served with C-Troop and On 06 July 1969, I remember linking up with the 2nd squadron and elements of the 199th LIB. We ran into a hellish ambush, and if I remember correctly, E-Troop took the brunt of the ambush. I recall ACAVs going back and forth with their ramps down, loaded with KIAs and WIAs. Was your Troop listed as combat ineffective for awhile after the ambush? I'm just putting things together in a notebook for my children and grandchildren at their request. Thank you.
