Well, we are down to 83 days until the Blackhorse Association Reunion here in Louisville, KY. I hope to be able to see some of the people I knew years ago there. So, dig deep and find the old "WORKHORSE" spirit and come on down. There will be a Reunion bar set up in the hospitality suite on Thursday night. And a Social on Friday night, if you cannot get away for it all, come on down and spend some time with us.

Of the twenty plus years I spent as a Cavalryman, the dismantling of the Wall was certainly one of the highlights.  When it fell, we were (K Trp, that is) on the border.  During a dismounted patrol in Nov. 89, I gave an East German kid a big fat navel orange.  He reacted as if I'd given him a $100 bill. I'll never forget his look of gratitude and amazement.

I started out in the S-3 Plans section in HHT.  A couple years later I managed to pester my way into K Troop and was promptly pulled from SFC Urich's platoon and installed as CPT Haaland's TC of his PC and also I was given the job as commo chief because the previous one was relieved.

I'm looking for anyone in M Co. I was there Jan 72 to Dec 75 and Jan 88 to Dec 89. I met my wife in Bad Hersfeld and my oldest daughter was born there. I've been in contact with Gary Honda, K Troop, I think 73-74. He's in CA now.
