Blackhorse forever.

My name is Ken Gulledge and I was a Medic with Headquarters Troop from 73-75. After spending so much time there I am missing something that probably all of you who served there have at home on your wall or with your Army papers.. When I ETS'ed back in Aug of 75 everyone was at Graf and I spent my last 2 weeks in the army by myself as I completed my out processing. Any way I didn't receive my border certificate or my Fiddlers Green poster. I feel as though I was shorted because of this , So I was going to see if anyone had extra copies blanks or good scans of theirs so I could recreate the ones I never received .Any .help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ken Gulledge  I can be contacted at tkeng52@comcast.net

I was a medic with HHT from Jan 1973 w/ SSG Davis, SGT Hamburg and a couple of others until January 1974 when I went over to the 20th MedDet at the dispensary. The medic's office was over the movie theater... I don't remember you but perhaps with a photo I would. CPT Holt was CO of HHT... I roomed w/ Vern Lewison and Dee Smith..both medics
PS: I never got a border certificate of Fiddler's Green poster either but I'm still Cav. I ETS'd in July '75.

I have one to scan, best I can do. have to scan it and piece it together. look for it down the road.
Can you send me a copy, too? I did receive the border certificate but not fiddler's green. Can find neither now 20+ years later.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hey Tom, My name is Terry Parrish, I served from '73 to '75 and my unit (H Co, 2/11) was also away at graf when I left.
If there is any way that I could get a copy of the border certificate and Fiddlers Green Poster, It would be greatly appreciated. Until I read this post I had no idea these were even given out. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ken:
What Squadron were you in 73-75?

Marc A. King
Commander, HHT 1st Squadron, 11th ACR
1974-1976

Ken,

I am unaware of any type of Border Certificate.

I was in the scouts patrolling the Czech border from October 1959 to December 1960.

I barely remember you but again its been over 30 years since we were in Fulda. I do remember all the good times spent in Fulda and with the cav.  I also did not recieve a border certificate or Fiddlers Green poster.  I will see if I can put my picture on here.

I remember you as a buck SGT.....Don't know why I remember you well but I do.  I saw more of you after I went to the 20th Med in Jan. 74.  There were only a few medics in the office above the movie theater and remember that as being excrutiating....  SSG Davis and a druggie named Gilmore were there.  Went to the field a few times and flew with the ACT a few times, mainly to get out of the office.  Good to hear from you after all these years.  I'll try to post some photos.

The only guy I speak with on a regular basis is an ex cav medic we called "Radar"   He lives on LI, NY.  I retired from the Alexandria Fire Department in 2009 as a Fire Captain w/ 32 years on the job

The 11ACR had Border Certificates.  This was given to those that had completed a tour on the border and ususally upon PCS.  We also had a special one for when the Border opened in 1989.
